According to its official website, Agricultural Bank of China London Branch is the London branch of Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC), whose predecessor, Agricultural Cooperative Bank, was established in 1951 and which became a joint stock limited liability company in January 2009; the branch is located at 1 Bartholomew Lane in London. The site says the branch is authorised and regulated by China's National Administration of Financial Regulation. Its Corporate Banking Department provides corporate and financial institution clients, especially UK and Northern European subsidiaries of companies in the ABC network, with bilateral and syndicated loans, loans backed by bank guarantees and trade finance (forfaiting, export bill discounting, risk participation). Its Financial Market and Treasury Department uses London's position in the offshore RMB market to offer spot, forward and swap foreign exchange in CNH, USD, GBP, EUR, JPY and HKD. The branch also offers current and time deposit accounts and payment services such as remittances, letters of credit and collections. The site says eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the branch is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits through a branch in the UK and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
