According to its official website, Avior Capital Markets is an independent, globally recognised capital markets research and trading firm. It was founded in March 2005 by Peter Koutromanos; Avior Capital Markets (Pty) Ltd has been a member of the JSE since August 2007. It has offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, London and New York; it says it gives more than 200 institutional clients high-touch and electronic access to 80 developed, frontier and emerging Africa markets and is the largest agency-only brokerage in South Africa. Avior Capital Derivatives and Fixed Income (Pty) Ltd is a member of the JSE and the Cape Town Stock Exchange (CTSE) and an authorised financial services provider (FSP 54596); it provides integrated research and dealing in JSE equity derivatives (EDM), interest rate and currency derivatives (IRC), the spot bond market, the CTSE bond and equity market, and Euroclear/Fedwire bonds and structured notes. The group also includes Avior Capital Markets International Limited (FRN 191074), registered in Scotland and stated to be authorised by the FCA, and Avior Capital Markets US LLC (CRD 172595), a FINRA-registered broker-dealer in the US.
