In South Africa, services are provided by Invest Bamboo Proprietary Limited (Johannesburg/Alberton), which the site says is authorised by the FSCA as a Category 1 financial services provider under licence number 47614; users can invest from their phone in more than 4,500 US stocks and ETFs as whole or fractional shares starting from 10 USD. The site states that Bamboo is registered with Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a Digital Sub-Broker, that its affiliate Bamboo Securities LLC is a broker-dealer registered with FINRA, and that it works with partners Tenth Capital and Kestrel Capital in Ghana and Kenya; US securities are provided by DriveWealth LLC. Institutional clients are offered the Bamboo Terminal and an API; there is also an office in San Francisco.
