According to its official website, Bank of Taiwan was established on 20 May 1946 as Taiwan's first government-owned bank; its predecessor, Bank of Taiwan Kabushiki-gaisha, was founded in 1899. The bank operates under the administration of the Ministry of Finance, has been a subsidiary of Taiwan Financial Holdings since 2008 and is headquartered in Taipei; the site says it has expanded its overseas network to five continents. The entity on the Bank of England list is the bank's London branch (10 Dominion Street). As no separate London branch page could be read on the official site, the branch's client segments, products and minimum amounts are not stated; in the FCA register the branch holds permissions for accepting deposits and dealing in investments as principal. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the London branch of Bank of Taiwan is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
