According to its official website, BIC-BRED (Suisse) is the short name of Banque Internationale de Commerce – BRED (Suisse) SA. Present in Geneva as a branch since 1991, it became a fully fledged Swiss bank after receiving a banking licence from FINMA in August 2015. The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of BRED Banque Populaire, one of the main parent companies of Groupe BPCE, France's second largest banking group. It serves traders of energy, metals and agricultural commodities with pre-financing, letters of credit, SBLCs and guarantees, bilateral and syndicated loans, foreign exchange and interest rate hedging, cash management and correspondent banking; the site stresses that it does not lend to individuals and that personal loan offers do not come from the bank. In 2022 it opened BIC-BRED (Suisse) SA DIFC Branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre; the branch is listed in the DFSA register as the branch of a non-DIFC company and is authorised only for arranging and advising on credit (F007120).
