According to its official website, Bitpanda is an investment platform founded in Vienna in 2014 by Eric Demuth, Paul Klanschek and Christian Trummer, which says it serves more than 7 million customers. The entity serving the UK is Bitpanda Broker UK Ltd at Atlantic House in London; the UK site offers retail users buying, selling and swapping of more than 600 cryptoassets, Bitpanda Crypto Index (BCI) products, savings plans, staking and limit orders, with a 24-hour cooling-off period before the first trade under UK rules. The site says Bitpanda Broker UK Ltd is registered with the FCA as a cryptoasset business under the Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs) (FRN 925234) and that this registration is for anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing supervision only; the FCA's MLR registration is an anti-money-laundering registration, not an investment-services licence, and FOS/FSCS protection does not apply. For institutions, Bitpanda Enterprise (formerly Bitpanda Custody) offers banks and fintechs investment-as-a-service infrastructure, institutional custody, liquidity, MiCA stablecoin and payment solutions; Bitpanda Custody Ltd in the UK is also registered with the FCA under the MLRs. The EU site says the group is licensed by the FMA in Austria and BaFin in Germany. This information is the company's own statement.
