According to its official website, BNI London Branch is the London branch of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI), a commercial bank founded in Indonesia in 1946 as a central bank, 60 percent of whose shares are now owned by the Indonesian government; BNI is Indonesia's fourth-largest bank by assets, loans and deposits. The branch has operated since 29 December 1986 under a licence from the Bank of England and says it is the only Indonesian bank with a branch licence to operate in the UK. It offers corporate customers working capital, investment, project and syndicated loans; wholesale deposits in USD, EUR and GBP for corporations, government agencies and financial institutions; trade finance such as documentary credits, guarantees and collections; and spot and forward FX, IDR remittances to Indonesia and nostro account services. The site says the bank is licensed and supervised by the PRA, the FCA and the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) and participates in the FSCS deposit protection scheme; according to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the branch is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
