According to its official website, C. Hoare & Co. was established in London in 1672 and, owned continuously by the Hoare family for 12 generations, is the UK's oldest privately owned bank; its head office is at 37 Fleet Street, London. The bank says the partners' unlimited liability and conservative attitude to risk give customers an extra level of security, and that the partners donate up to 10% of annual profits through the Golden Bottle Trust. It offers personal and business customers current accounts in several currencies, Visa cards, instant access, 35-day and 95-day notice and 1–24 month fixed-term deposit accounts, mortgages and other lending facilities, treasury and foreign exchange services, and philanthropy services through the Master Charitable Trust; the 95-day notice account requires a minimum deposit of GBP 50,000. Accounts can be managed through online banking and the mobile app; the site says its services are addressed only to UK customers. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the bank is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA; the site states that customers are covered by the FSCS for balances up to GBP 120,000.
