According to its official website, Capital One UK is a credit card company that issued its first credit card in 1996 and says it is now one of the UK's top ten card providers; it says more than 4 million people have been approved. It offers the Classic card for building credit (starting limit £200–£4,000, up to two limit increases a year), a Balance Transfer card with up to 18 months interest-free on transfers, and a card with up to 12 months interest-free on purchases; the representative variable APR is 34.9%. It provides the QuickCheck eligibility checker with no impact on credit scores, the free CreditWise credit score and account management through its mobile app. Services are provided to UK residents aged 18 and over by Capital One (Europe) plc in Nottingham (Trent House, Station Street); in the FCA register the company also holds consumer credit, debt collecting and credit information permissions.
