According to its official website, Coastline Bank is the trading name of Coastline Credit Union Ltd and presents itself as a customer-owned, regionally based bank on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. The site states that it was formed on 25 October 1966 with 54 members as the Macleay River County Council Employees Credit Union, later became Macleay Mutual Credit Union and, in the 1990s, Coastline Credit Union; it has branches in places such as Kempsey, Port Macquarie, South West Rocks and Taree, more than 70 local staff and over 20,000 customers. Since 2002 the Coastline Community Foundation has given more than AUD 2.5 million in grants in the region.
