According to its official website, Commonwealth Bank of Australia London Branch is the UK branch of Australia's Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA); the bank has been present in Europe since 1913, has more than 180 staff in the region and its London office is at 60 Ludgate Hill. Drawing on its expertise in the Australian market, the branch offers corporate clients global markets products, capital markets services and currency term deposits. Currency term deposits are offered only to eligible counterparties and professional clients, with a minimum amount of USD 1,000,000 (or the foreign currency equivalent) and terms from 30 days to one year. The site says the London office does not provide over-the-counter banking for visiting Australians. According to its terms of business, CBA is authorised and regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA); according to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the London branch is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA. The terms say the bank is a member of the FSCS and eligible deposits are protected up to GBP 120,000.
