In the EU, electronic money is issued by Currencies Direct Spain, E.D.E., S.L., authorised by the Banco de España as an electronic money institution (6716), which has a branch in Portugal; in South Africa, Currencies Direct External Profit Company is an authorised financial services provider regulated by the FSCA (FSP 43493). The site also lists FINTRAC and Bank of Canada registrations in Canada and money transmitter licences in several US states for Currencies Direct Inc. (NMLS 1232445).
