According to its official website, First Investment Bank AD (Fibank) is among the leading banks in Bulgaria and is developing as a financial group with its main activity in Bulgaria and a regional presence through foreign operations in Cyprus and Albania. The bank was registered as a joint-stock company with Sofia City Court by a ruling dated 8 October 1993 and has been a public company since 2007; it holds a universal banking licence for domestic and international operations, is a licensed primary dealer in government securities and a registered investment intermediary. It says it is among the leaders in card business, international payments, trade finance and investment gold. According to its branch network page, its Cyprus unit is the Cyprus International Banking Unit at 130 Limassol Avenue, Nicosia (BIC FINVCY2N). The Central Bank of Cyprus register lists it among branches of banks from EU member states. This information is the company's own statement.
