According to its official website, GCEX describes itself as a digital prime brokerage for institutional and professional clients and says it serves only these clients and is not directed at retail clients. GCEX is a trading name of GC Exchange Limited, GC Exchange Fondsmæglerselskab A/S, GC Exchange A/S and GC Exchange FZE. Rolling spot FX and CFD accounts are provided by GC Exchange Limited (FRN 828730), based in London (75 King William Street), which the site says is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA); according to Companies House the company was incorporated in 2018 as Global Crypto Exchange Limited. It says that GC Exchange Fondsmæglerselskab A/S in Denmark is authorised by Finanstilsynet as an investment firm for FX and CFDs, that GC Exchange A/S is authorised as a crypto-asset service provider under the EU MiCA regulation, and that GC Exchange FZE in Dubai holds a broker-dealer licence from VARA. The site also states that the GlobalBlock brand and GCEX Group are not authorised by the FCA for cryptoasset services. It offers hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, brokers and professional traders forex, commodity and index CFDs, futures, cryptoassets as spot and CFDs, currency conversion, crypto as collateral and staking, and runs the XplorTrader, XplorSpot and XplorDigital platforms and the Broker in a Box and Crypto in a Box technology packages.
