According to its official website, Ghana International Bank (GHIB) was incorporated in the United Kingdom in 1998 to take over the mandate of the branch Ghana Commercial Bank opened in the City of London in 1959. It is owned by a consortium of major Ghanaian financial institutions, with the Bank of Ghana as majority shareholder. Ghana International Bank plc, headquartered at 67 Cheapside in London, focuses on treasury and global markets, trade finance, corporate and institutional banking, retail and small business banking, correspondent banking and payment solutions.
