According to its official website, Griffin is a bank that lets companies embed bank accounts, payments and other financial products into their own products via API, and describes itself as the UK's first full-stack Banking as a Service platform. It is headquartered in London; its co-founders are CEO David Jarvis and CTO Allen Rohner. The site says it applied for a licence in May 2022, entered mobilisation in March 2023 and was granted a full banking licence in March 2024. Griffin Bank Ltd works only with UK-registered companies limited by shares and offers business bank accounts, safeguarding and client money accounts, embedded savings and bank accounts, customer onboarding checks (Verify) and Faster Payments. Monthly fees for business accounts start at 100 GBP. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, Griffin Bank Ltd is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA; the site says eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS up to 120,000 GBP.
