According to its official website, Habib Bank Zurich is the UK entity of the Habib Bank AG Zurich group, founded in Switzerland in 1967 and headquartered in Zurich. The group began operating in the UK in 1974 as a branch; in 2016 the UK-incorporated Habib Bank Zurich plc, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swiss parent, took over the branch's business. It is headquartered at Habib House (42 Moorgate) in London, and the site also lists branches in Birmingham, Harrow, Leicester, Manchester, Southall, Tooting and the West End. The bank offers personal and business clients current accounts, fixed term and notice deposits, Islamic accounts and finance under the Sirat brand, buy-to-let and income-generating property loans, trade finance, foreign exchange and HBZ Priority services; the HBZ eDeposit fixed rate deposit opens with at least 5,000 GBP. The group has a representative office in Türkiye. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, Habib Bank Zurich plc is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA; the site says eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS up to 120,000 GBP.
