According to its official website, Kadmos is a financial technology company that digitises salary payments by employers, especially shipping companies, to staff working abroad; it was founded in 2021 by Justus Schmueser and Sasha Makarovych and its team works in Berlin. Employers make salary payments automatically through a web app; employees receive their pay instantly into an e-wallet in the Kadmos mobile app, from which they can send money home or spend and withdraw cash with the Kadmos debit card. The site states that wallet-to-wallet transfers between Kadmos users are free and announces a Series A round of more than $29 million. The site is owned by Kadmos Technologies GmbH in Berlin; it states that KDMS Payments Limited, which operates under the Kadmos brand in the United Kingdom, is authorised by the FCA for electronic money and payment services (FRN 1026130).
