According to its official website, Merchant West is a South African financial services group founded in 1998 to provide structured financial solutions to corporates, which today offers asset finance, fleet, working capital, property and specialised finance, private wealth, investments and insurance; treasury services joined the group in 1999. The group also has companies in Namibia and Mauritius. This record is based on Merchant West Treasury Solutions (Pty) Ltd (FSP 13011), which provides international money transfer and foreign exchange services: for individuals, transfers to and from South Africa, exchange control guidance, foreign currency and offshore savings accounts, inheritance payments and SARS tax compliance (AIT) applications; for companies, inward and outward transfers, currency risk management (hedging), cash management, margin facilities and corporate foreign currency accounts.
