According to its official website, Momentum Securities is a stockbroker that is part of the JSE-listed Momentum Group Limited, one of South Africa's largest life insurers. The company says it operates under one of the oldest JSE stockbroking licences in the country, dating back to 1938; Imara SP Reid was purchased by Momentum in 2014 and the Momentum Securities brand was launched in 2017.
