According to its official website, MoneyBadger is payment infrastructure for Bitcoin and digital assets; it lets customers pay in store or online from the wallet they already use, by QR code or pay link, while the merchant receives the amount in South African rand (typically the next business day). It supports Bitcoin over the Lightning Network natively and says it integrates with the wallets of crypto platforms such as Luno, Binance, VALR, Bybit and AltCoinTrader. The company states that it is not a wallet and does not hold customer or merchant funds. The service is offered through payment service providers such as Peach Payments, Ozow and Zapper, or by direct API integration for high-volume merchants; the site also mentions converting merchant revenue into BTC or USD stablecoins and treasury and cross-border payment solutions on crypto rails. Its founders include Luno co-founder Carel van Wyk.
