According to its official website, Optimal Currency is a British currency exchange and international money transfer company founded in 2018 by David Worthington, Charlotte Worthington and Robert Ingleby, with an emphasis on personal service. It serves individuals buying or selling property abroad, emigrating, transferring pensions or sending money to family, and companies with import and export payments, overseas payroll and currency risk management. The service is run through a personal currency broker; spot contracts, forward contracts of up to two years and limit and stop-loss orders are offered, and it says no transfer fees are charged and SEPA, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments and CHAPS are used. The site says Optimal Currency Limited (company no 11627191) is authorised and regulated by the FCA as an Authorised Payment Institution under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (FRN 830790), that its foreign exchange services, including forward contracts, are not regulated, and that funds relating to payment services are safeguarded in a segregated account at Banking Circle.
