According to its official website, Ripple provides digital asset infrastructure to financial institutions; it offers cross-border payments, digital asset custody, the RLUSD stablecoin and institutional prime brokerage under the Ripple Prime brand. According to the site's compliance and disclosures page, Ripple Markets UK Ltd (England, 10145333) is authorised by the FCA as an Electronic Money Institution (FRN 1028021) and registered, subject to conditions, as a cryptoasset business under the MLRs; the MLR registration is an anti-money-laundering registration, not an investment-services licence. The company directs its services only to investment professionals and similar bodies. The same page lists Ripple Middle East Limited, regulated by the DFSA in Dubai (F008529), Ripple Payments Europe S.A., a CSSF-authorised e-money institution in Luxembourg (W21), and Ripple Markets APAC Pte. Ltd., licensed by MAS in Singapore; in the US, Ripple Markets DE LLC holds state money transmitter licences. RIPPLE PAYMENTS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD (AFSL 493372) holds an AFS licence from ASIC. Ripple Prime is a non-bank institutional prime broker operating under the new name of Hidden Road, whose acquisition Ripple completed in October 2025; it offers institutions such as hedge funds, asset managers, crypto trading firms, market makers and banks trading in digital assets, forex, derivatives, swaps, fixed income and DeFi through a single counterparty and a single collateral pool, and says it does not trade against client flow for its own account. These services are provided through the FCA-authorised Hidden Road Partners CIV UK Ltd (FRN 828692), Hidden Road Partners CIV US LLC, which the site says is a CFTC-registered FCM and SEC-registered broker-dealer, and the AFM-authorised Hidden Road Partners CIV NL B.V. in the Netherlands. Across the complaints, emails continuing after unsubscribing, pushy persistent calls from representatives urging investors to fund their accounts and an unanswered complaint email stand out.
