According to its official website, Standard Bank is the brand of The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited, Standard Bank Group's bank in South Africa, serving clients in personal and private banking, business and commercial banking, corporate and investment banking, and insurance and asset management. The group says it operates in 21 sub-Saharan African countries, four global centres and two offshore hubs, with more than 54,000 employees. Personal products include bank accounts, credit cards, savings and investment accounts, the Shyft global wallet and SnapScan, foreign exchange and international payments, banking for non-residents and foreign nationals, Shari'ah banking, personal, vehicle, home and student loans, tax-free investments, unit trusts, local and offshore share trading, discretionary portfolio management, wills, trusts and estates services, and car, home, life and funeral insurance. The site states that Standard Bank is a licensed financial services provider under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act and a registered credit provider (NCRCP15). The FSCA register also lists the bank's Standard Bank Financial Consultancy division and the group stockbroker SBG Securities (Pty) Ltd. It is headquartered in Johannesburg (5 Simmonds Street).
