According to its official website, TrueLayer is a payments infrastructure company that describes itself as Europe's leading open banking platform and runs a Pay by Bank network for payments made directly from bank accounts instead of cards. It serves businesses; consumers use TrueLayer within those businesses' payment flows. Its products include bank payments (Payments), payouts to customers (Payouts and Verified Payouts), payments with a saved bank account (Bank on File), Signup+, which combines onboarding and the first deposit, account data (Data) and customer verification (Verification); the site says it serves the ecommerce, iGaming, financial services, travel and crypto sectors, that its network has more than 30 million consumers and that it handles almost half of all Pay by Bank payments in the United Kingdom. The site says TrueLayer Ltd is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom under the Payment Services and Electronic Money Regulations (FRN 901096), and that TrueLayer (Ireland) Limited in Dublin, which handles its European business, is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland; there are separate country sites for Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Ireland.
