On its UK site, services are provided by Uphold Europe Limited (company no 09281410), whose registered office is in London (Eastcastle House, 27/28 Eastcastle Street); the company is registered with the FCA as a cryptoasset firm for anti-money-laundering purposes (FRN 938277). This is a registration under the Money Laundering Regulations (MLR), not an investment-services licence; the site says its cryptoasset services are unregulated and not covered by the FSCS. Fiat balances are e-money issued by Optimus Cards UK Limited (FRN 902034), an FCA-authorised e-money issuer, with Uphold acting as its EMD agent (FRN 900577). The site says it offers trading in more than 300 assets, one fixed price regardless of order size, free deposits to and withdrawals from bank accounts, staking in more than 20 digital assets and the Uphold Debit Card with 1% cashback in GBP that works with Apple Pay and Google Pay, and that it publishes its assets and liabilities every 30 seconds.
