According to its official website, Vanquis is a Bradford-based UK bank whose roots go back to a business founded in Bradford in 1880 by Joshua Kelley Waddilove. Together with Moneybarn (specialist vehicle finance) and Snoop (a money management app), Vanquis makes up Vanquis Banking Group, and it says it serves more than 1.7 million borrowers and savers in the UK. The bank offers credit builder, balance transfer and purchase credit cards to a wide range of customers, including people with weaker credit histories; easy access, notice and fixed rate savings accounts and cash ISAs; and debt consolidation and home improvement loans, secured loans and second charge mortgages. Savings accounts start from 1,000 pounds, and accounts are managed online and through the mobile app. Credit is only available to UK residents aged 18 and over. The site says eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS up to 120,000 pounds. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, Vanquis Bank Limited is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
