According to its official website, BOQ is the brand of Bank of Queensland Limited and describes itself as one of Australia's leading regional banks and one of the few still not owned by one of the big banks; it has been doing business since 1874 and is part of the S&P/ASX 100 index. Through a network of branches and mobile bankers across Australia, the bank offers personal and business customers transaction and savings accounts, term deposits, home loans, credit cards, insurance and business banking. The BOQ Group operates several brands: Virgin Money Australia, acquired in 2013; ME Bank, acquired in 2021 from 25 industry superannuation funds; BOQ Specialist (formerly Investec Professional Finance), serving professions such as medical and accounting; and BOQ Finance, which provides asset and cash flow finance.
