According to its official website, EasyEquities is a product of First World Trader (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Purple Group Limited. The platform offers investing in local and international shares, ETFs, crypto assets (EasyCrypto), property (EasyProperties) and managed portfolios (bundles, unit trusts, MrPHY), and says it has more than 2.7 million investors. It says fractional share rights (FSRs) allow investing with any amount, with no monthly fees and a 0.25% commission; it offers ZAR, USD, AUD, GBP and EUR accounts, a tax-free savings account (TFSA) and retirement accounts (RA, two-pot savings), with currency conversion through EasyFX. The site states that First World Trader is an authorised financial services provider (FSP 22588), a registered credit provider (NCRCP12294) and a licensed over-the-counter derivatives provider (ODP 44); for FSRs EasyEquities acts as principal to a contract for difference, while for whole shares the investor is the registered owner.
