According to its official website, Experian ReFi is the Experian group's Direct Settlement Service with ReFi™ technology offered to lenders. The service helps consumers consolidate debts held with several providers into a single loan: it confirms the products a customer holds, pays settlement balances to creditors and closes the legacy accounts, so that the lender only needs to assess the new loan. The site says the ReFi payments engine is built on a safeguarding account provided by one of the 'big 5' UK high street banks, with money remittance and payment execution services built on it, that settlement balances can be returned from more than 30,000 credit products, and that more than 70 million GBP of debt consolidation loans had been enabled as of May 2025. ReFi is described as an FCA Authorised Payment Institution with debt adjustment and debt administration permissions; the licence holder is Experian ReFi Solutions Limited (formerly Paylink Solutions Limited).
