According to its official website, FirstBank UK is the wholly owned UK subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, founded in 1894 as The Bank of British West Africa; the parent company is First HoldCo Plc, listed on the Nigerian Exchange. From its London office, supported by representative offices in Paris, Lagos and Abuja, the bank serves clients engaged in trade and financial activity between Africa and the UK. Corporate banking covers trade and commodity finance, structured finance, lending, FX and cash management, while institutional banking provides correspondent banking and FX services to banks, non-bank financial institutions, sovereigns and central banks. Professional clients are offered liquidity in African Eurobond, repo and FX markets. Under private banking and wealth management it offers personal current, savings, notice and fixed deposit accounts, as well as residential and buy-to-let mortgages for UK residents and international clients. Online banking and a mobile app are available.
