According to its official website, Horizon Bank is the trading name of Horizon Credit Union Ltd, a customer-owned financial institution on the New South Wales south coast with 10 branches stretching from Thirroul to Merimbula and assets of more than AUD 663 million. It was established on 20 November 1964 in Wollongong as a credit union for Illawarra County Council employees, grew through transfers of engagements from other credit unions, and began trading as Horizon Bank on 2 September 2019.
