According to its official website, Land Bank of Taiwan was established on 1 September 1946 with capital appropriated from the national treasury to support the implementation of land policies in Taiwan. The bank became a state-run organisation in 1998, was reorganised as Land Bank of Taiwan Co., Ltd. on 1 July 2003 and became a public company on 21 May 2004; it is headquartered in Taipei.
