According to its official website, Coventry Building Society was founded in 1884 by local businessman Thomas Mason Daffern to help the people of Coventry buy their own homes, and is a mutual owned by its members with no shareholders. Its principal office is Coventry House, Harry Weston Road, Binley, Coventry. It offers savings accounts (easy and limited access, fixed rate, regular saver, First Home Saver), Cash ISAs and mortgages (first-time buyer, remortgage, buy-to-let, offset); the site says it does not offer current accounts, which are provided by The Co-operative Bank, now owned by Coventry Building Society, and that each organisation is separately authorised. Fixed rate savers accept deposits from GBP 1. Accounts are managed through Online Services, the mobile app, branches and by phone. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, it is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA; the site states that eligible deposits are protected up to a total of GBP 120,000 by the FSCS.
