According to its official website, Jordan International Bank (JIB) was incorporated in England in 1984 as Jordan Finance Consortium Plc and took its current name in 1987; it is headquartered in London. The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, the second largest bank in Jordan, holds 75 percent of the bank and Arab Jordan Investment Bank holds 25 percent. JIB serves individual and corporate clients in four main areas: private banking, structured property finance, trade finance and treasury. In private banking it offers accounts in major currencies, fixed rate bonds, a debit card and mortgages, and also opens accounts for non-residents. The minimum balance is 50,000 pounds for personal customers and 250,000 pounds for business customers. In property finance it lends between 1 and 15 million pounds to projects in London and the South East. The site says eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS up to 120,000 pounds. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, Jordan International Bank Plc is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
