According to its official website, National Bank of Egypt (UK) is the wholly owned UK subsidiary of National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the largest and oldest bank in Egypt; it has operated in the UK since the 1980s and its head office is at 8-9 Stratton Street in Mayfair, London. For personal customers it offers single and multi-currency accounts in GBP, USD and EUR, fixed term deposits, foreign exchange services and buy-to-let mortgages on residential and commercial properties in England; many of its clients are Egyptians living in the UK. For businesses trading with Egypt and the GCC region it provides corporate accounts, trade finance (letters of credit, discounting, documentary collections), bilateral financing, escrow, guarantee and bond facilities. The minimum fixed term deposit is GBP 100,000 for new customers and GBP 10,000 for existing customers; the bank does not issue cards. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, National Bank of Egypt (UK) Limited is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
