The bank was founded by Swedish businessman Sievert Larsson, who established Ancoria Insurance (formerly Akelius Insurance) in Cyprus in 1987; the site lists the main shareholders as Sievert Larsson (51.39%), Ancoria Insurance Public Ltd (20%), The Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation (12.706%) and Alastoral Property Co Ltd (6.049%). It offers personal and business customers current accounts, savings and fixed term deposit accounts, housing, personal, student, car and eco loans, business loans, Visa debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and trade services. Services are available through the myAncoria app and banking centres in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca, and accounts can be opened in the app with an ID card, a utility bill and a selfie video.
