According to its official website, Bank of Beirut (UK) Ltd is a UK-incorporated and regulated subsidiary of Lebanon-based Bank of Beirut s.a.l.; it says the group has been present in London since 1981 and that the bank began its UK operations in December 2002. Stating that it holds a full deposit-taking licence, the bank provides retail, commercial and deposit services, focuses on import and export finance for corporates, businesses and correspondent banks operating between the UK and continental Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and serves the Lebanese community in the UK and overseas.
