According to its official website, BPI Europe is the short name of Bank of the Philippine Islands (Europe) Plc, a wholly owned subsidiary, registered in England and Wales, of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), a publicly listed universal bank in the Philippines and the first bank in the Philippines and the Southeast Asian region. In operation since 2007, the bank serves Filipino communities in Europe; it offers retail deposit products, manages a portfolio of fixed income securities and syndicated loans, and engages in fixed income and foreign exchange trading. Its retail products are the S.T.A.R. savings account and the S.T.A.R. Plus time deposit with terms of 91, 182 or 364 days, both in GBP and USD; accounts are opened at its London office (95 Aldwych), and statements can be viewed through online banking. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the bank is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA; the site states that eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS.
