According to its official website, Dudley Building Society has operated since 1858, exists for the sole benefit of the members who own it and was the first regional building society in the UK to become B Corp certified. Its head office is at The Waterfront, Dudley, and it has branches including a newly opened Bromsgrove branch. As a specialist lender it says it manually underwrites mortgage applications and focuses on areas underserved by competitors: mortgages for self-builders, expats, holiday lets, lending into retirement and the self-employed. Savings include instant access, notice, regular savings, bonds, ISAs, young savers, business and trust accounts; the Branch Instant Access Saver requires a minimum opening balance of GBP 1,000.
