According to its official website, FCMB Bank (UK) is an independently incorporated UK boutique bank wholly owned by First City Monument Bank Ltd, a member of Nigeria-based FCMB Group PLC. The bank began operating as an investment firm in September 2009, started wholesale deposit taking in 2013 and added personal and business banking in 2018; it is based in the City of London. It offers trade finance, corporate and institutional banking and spot and forward FX to Africa-linked entrepreneurs, investors and professionals, especially companies trading with Sub-Saharan Africa. Personal and business banking is aimed at high-net-worth individuals with an annual income of at least GBP 100,000 or net worth of at least GBP 250,000 and at SMEs; current, savings and fixed deposit accounts are available in USD, GBP and EUR, along with buy-to-let mortgages in London. Online banking is available. The site says eligible deposits are protected up to GBP 120,000 by the FSCS.
