According to its official website, Fire Service Credit Union (FSCU) is a credit union founded in 1972 by a group of firefighters to support each other financially. Membership is open only to fire and emergency services employees and their families; the site states that it is one of the few 'closed bond' credit unions left in Australia and the only one in South Australia, that members are part owners and that profits are returned to members through lower fees and better rates. Its office is at 22 Chancery Lane, Adelaide. It offers transaction and savings accounts, 3, 6 and 12-month term deposits, business accounts, a Visa debit card, home loans including a Firefighter Home Loan, car and personal loans, a personal overdraft, international and travel services, financial planning and insurance through Allianz; accounts are managed through internet banking and the smartphone app. This information is the company's own statement.
