According to its official website, Land Bank of Taiwan was established on 1 September 1946 with capital appropriated from the national treasury to support the implementation of land policies in Taiwan. The bank became a state-run organisation in 1998, was reorganised as Land Bank of Taiwan Co., Ltd. on 1 July 2003 and became a public company on 21 May 2004; it is headquartered in Taipei. The site says the bank uses its advantage as a real estate specialty bank to provide special loans under government policies and aims to internationalise into a full-scale financial institution. Its list of overseas business units includes the Brisbane branch at Suite A, Level 7, 300 George Street, Brisbane.
