According to its official website, MCA is the short name of Methodist Chapel Aid Limited, founded more than 130 years ago by the Primitive Methodist philanthropist William Hartley; it was registered as a limited company in 1890, widened its objects in 2002 to include other Christian churches and rebranded as MCA in 2015.
