According to its official website, Peresec is a financial services provider with a strong presence in South Africa and Guernsey, giving clients access to trading and investment opportunities, a wide range of prime broking services, and research, consulting and structuring services. The site says that Peregrine Securities, established in 1997 as a technology-focused prime broker, left the Peregrine Holdings Group in October 2018 through a management and B-BBEE consortium buyout and merged with Legae Securities, South Africa's first black-owned stockbroker, to form Legae Peresec, which was renamed Peresec South Africa in 2020. Its global offering runs through Peresec International Limited, established in Guernsey in 2017, which the site says is licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC). Services include local and offshore trade execution in more than 40 markets (spot equity, spot FX, CFDs and OTC derivatives, listed derivatives, fixed income, unit trusts), direct market access (DMA), FIX connectivity, tactical algorithms, cash and synthetic prime broking, custody, an online client portal, wealth management and fund platform services. Clients include institutional fund managers, hedge funds, investment banks, retirement funds, life assurers, algorithmic fund managers and liquidity providers, and private clients.
