According to its official website, Zempler Bank is a London-based UK digital bank focused on micro-businesses, sole traders and newly started small businesses. The company, whose story began when its founder Rich Wagner could not open a bank account in the UK, says it introduced the UK's first prepaid debit card and the first online business account, was authorised as a bank in 2021 and has helped more than 650,000 businesses. The bank offers the free Business Go account and the Business Extra and Business Pro accounts with up to 1% cashback on card spending, a business credit card and Creditbuilder products, as well as Freedom and Activeplus current accounts and a credit card for individuals. Accounts are managed in the app and through online banking, with cash deposits at 11,500 Post Offices, international payments and contactless payments on a phone through a partnership with Stripe. The site says eligible deposits are protected by the FSCS up to 120,000 pounds. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, Zempler Bank Limited is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA.
