According to its official website, Bank Mandiri (Europe) Limited is a UK-incorporated, wholly owned subsidiary of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk., part of Indonesia's Mandiri Group. Its origins go back to the Bank Ekspor Impor Indonesia (Bank Exim) representative office opened in London in 1983; it obtained a branch licence in 1992 and was incorporated in London on 22 June 1999. Under its wholesale banking licence it offers deposit and current accounts, credit facilities, trade finance and treasury services to corporate customers only, acting as a gateway for UK and European companies to the Indonesian market and for Indonesian companies to the UK and European markets. Its services include bilateral and syndicated loans, foreign exchange in GBP, USD, EUR and IDR, cross-border payments, documentary letters of credit, open account trade and supply chain finance. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, the bank is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA; the site states that eligible deposits are protected up to a total of GBP 120,000 by the FSCS.
