According to its official website, Bank of America opened its first office in the United Kingdom in 1931; today, with teams in London, Chester and Belfast, it describes the UK as a critical hub for the EMEA region, with more than 6,700 employees, its largest workforce outside the US. The group's Australian entities MERRILL LYNCH (AUSTRALIA) FUTURES LIMITED (AFSL 235143) and BANK OF AMERICA, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION (AFSL 412901) hold AFS licences from ASIC.
