According to its official website, Blockchain.com began its work in 2011 and describes itself as the global infrastructure platform for digital assets; it says more than 95 million wallets have been created and over USD 1.1 trillion in volume has moved through the platform. For retail users it offers a brokerage app for buying, selling and swapping crypto, a self-custody DeFi wallet, rewards (Rewards/Earn) products, crypto-backed loans and tools such as the Blockchain Explorer; it also serves institutional clients, and product availability varies by country. According to its licences page, its UK entity is registered with the FCA as a cryptoasset firm under the Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs) (FRN 1036678; shown on the page as BC Operations Limited and in the FCA register as Blockchain.com Operations (UK) Limited); the FCA's MLR registration is an anti-money-laundering registration, not an investment-services licence. Other group entities include Blue Cube (Malta) Limited, which holds a MiCA licence from the MFSA in Malta, Blockchain.com (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., authorised by the MAS, Blockchain.com (Cayman) Limited, registered as a VASP in the Cayman Islands, and Blockchain.com, Inc. in the US, registered with FinCEN and holding many state money transmitter licences.
