According to its official website, Cater Allen is a private bank whose history dates back to 1816 and which has served private clients and professional advisers for more than 200 years. Cater Allen Private Bank is the name used for the banking services of the UK-incorporated Cater Allen Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Santander UK with its registered office in London. It offers personal customers the Private Bank Account, euro and US dollar accounts, Cash Hub, fixed-term deposits and a 35-day notice account, and businesses Reserve, fixed-term and notice accounts. Its specialist areas include trusts, charities, pension administrators and personal representatives. The personal fixed-term deposit requires at least 5,000 GBP; accounts are accessed through internet banking and by phone. According to the Bank of England list and the FCA register, Cater Allen Limited is authorised by the PRA to accept deposits and is regulated by the FCA and the PRA. The site states that, thanks to its own banking licence, deposits are protected by the FSCS up to 120,000 GBP separately from Santander UK, and that all deposits are guaranteed by Santander UK plc.
